Brazilian integrated steelmaker Gerdau anticipates a “gradual” recovery of domestic demand in the second half of this year, the company said in a presentation to investors.

“Steel demand in Brazil should grow gradually starting in the second half of 2017,” the company forecasted, adding demand in North America “continues to grow with a positive forecast for the year.”

The Brazilian steelmaker said priorities for the ongoing year include a free cash flow generation, greater selectivity in Capex, reduction in debt indicators and a continued focus on its more profitable assets.
