Gerdau exports rebar to Peru out of Suape port in Brazil

Brazil integrated steelmaker Gerdau made its first rebar export shipment from the Suape port in the state of Pernambuco; the steelmaker has a rebar mill located nearby.
 
According to the port, Gerdau’s rebar shipment was sent to Peru. Details of how much rebar Gerdau plans to export from the port were not provided, but the port said the steelmaker is expected to send a ship every month with about 4,000 mt of rebar.
 
So far, Gerdau has exported over 8,000 mt of rebar to Peru in two ships.
