Gerdau Ameristeel acquires Nashville fabricator

Gerdau Ameristeel Corp. has acquired Nashville, Tennessee-based Enco Materials Inc. for an undisclosed price.

Enco Materials Inc. has eight facilities in Arkansas, Tennessee, and Georgia with a fabrication capacity of approximately 50,000 tons annually.  The company handles fabricated rebar, construction products, concrete forming and shoring material, as well as fabricated structural steel and architectural products.

Gerdau Ameristeel's vice president of commercial and downstream operations, J. Neal McCullohs, said in the company's release, "The deal positions Gerdau Ameristeel in new markets, and expands its product and service offerings."
