Georgia's ferrous
scrap exports to
Turkey, the country's main
trading partner, amounted to 22,963 metric tons, decreasing by 62.5 percent year on year, according to the data provided by the National Statistics Office of
Georgia (Geostat).
The revenue generated by these exports came to $8.4 million, down 62.8 percent from the year-ago figure, indicating that the country's average export price for ferrous
scrap to
Turkey in the period in question was $365/mt, down from $367.5/mt in the corresponding period of 2011.
Meanwhile, in the given period
Georgia's ferroalloy exports to
Turkey increased more than 10 times as compared to the January-February period of 2011, reaching 5,505 metric tons.
