Georgia’s scrap exports to Turkey down 21 percent in Jan-Nov

In the first 11 months of this year, Georgia's ferrous scrap exports to Turkey, the country's main trading partner, amounted to 217,148 metric tons, decreasing by 21.1 percent year on year, according to the data provided by the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).

The revenue generated by these exports came to $80.1 million, up 3.2 percent from the year-ago figure, indicating that the country's average export price for ferrous scrap to Turkey in the period in question was $369/mt, up from $282/mt in the corresponding period of 2010.

Meanwhile, in the given period Georgia's ferroalloy exports to Turkey increased by 90.87 percent as compared to the January-November period of 2010, reaching 32,304 metric tons.
