In the first half of the current year,
Georgia's total external trade turnover with
Turkey, which is the top trading partner of the country, totaled $939.51 million, including exports of $112.27 million, up 37.10 percent, and imports of $827.24 million, up 35.42 percent, both on year-on-year basis, according to the data provided by the National Statistics Office of
Georgia (Geostat).
In the first half, semi-finished products of iron or non-alloy steel ranked first among
Georgia's exports to
Turkey, amounting to 43,154 metric tons, up 106.94 percent year on year. Meanwhile, the value of these exports totaled $20.82 million, up 110.92 percent year on year. Exports from
Georgia to
Turkey of the semi-finished products in question had only amounted to 20,853 metric tons in the same period of 2013.
