Georgia’s semi-finished exports to Turkey decline in January

In January, Georgia's total external trade turnover with Turkey, which is the top trading partner of the country, amounted to $108.9 million, including exports of $13.42 million, down 42.3 percent, and imports of $95.47 million, up 3.7 percent, both on year-on-year basis, according to the data provided by the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).

In January, semi-finished products of iron or non-alloy steel ranked third among Georgia's most exported products to Turkey, amounting to 3,743 metric tons, down 53.9 percent year on year. Meanwhile, the value of these exports totaled $1.53 million, down 60.9 percent year on year.

On the other hand, in the given month, Georgia's imports of tubes and pipes of iron from Turkey totaled $5.1 million, increasing by more than three times on year-on-year basis.
