Georgia’s scrap exports to Turkey up by 18.73 percent in January-July

According to the data provided by the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat), in the January-July of this year Georgia's ferrous scrap exports to Turkey, the country's main trading partner, amounted to 199,118 metric tons, increasing by 18.73 percent year on year. The revenue generated by these exports came to $54.06 million, up 59.34 percent year on year, indicating that the country's average export price for ferrous scrap to Turkey in the period in question was $272/mt, up from $202/mt in the corresponding period of 2009.
 
Meanwhile, in the given period Georgia's ferroalloy exports to Turkey regressed by 72.84 percent as compared to the January-July period of 2009, reaching 15,861 metric tons.
