Russian gas giant Gazprom has stated that it has signed an agreement on the possibility of advanced payments and discounts for pipe supplies for the Power of Siberia pipeline with major domestic pipe producers Severstal, TMK, United Metallurgical Company (OMK) and Chelyabinsk Tube-Rolling Plant (ChelPipe). Prepayment for the supplies in question may reach up to 40 percent, with discounts at around 10 percent, a representative of one of the pipe companies stated.

Gazprom will organize tenders to choose more pipe suppliers for Power of Siberia within two to three weeks, and will hold tenders for construction works for this pipeline by mid-November.

Gazprom may increase large diameter pipe purchases to 2.0 million mt in 2015, up from 1.3 million mt in 2014.
