Fujian metallurgical industry output value to reach RMB 410 billion by 2015

According to the 12th five-year (2011-15) plan drawn up by the Fujian Provincial Economic and Trade Commission, the total annual output value of the local metallurgical industry in China's Fujian Province will reach RMB 410 billion by 2015, up an average of 18.8 percent each year during the given period. Of this total, the annual output value of the steel industry in Fujian Province will account for RMB 300 billion, up 20.4 percent each year, while the annual output value of the local non-ferrous industry will contribute RMB 110 billion, up 14.9 percent each year.

By 2015, the annual output volumes of the main metallurgical products in Fujian Province are expected to include 11 million mt of iron ore, 15 million mt of pig iron, 20 million mt of crude steel, 30 million mt of finished steel products and 1 million mt of ferroalloys. Meanwhile, by 2015, annual consumption of finished steel in Fujian is expected to exceed 30 million mt.
