According to the statistics released by France's National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (INSEE), in September this year France's new industrial orders received, excepting heavy tranport vehicles, decreased 1.1 percent month on month. In August, new industrial orders had risen by 0.8 percent compared to July. On the other hand, in September export orders declined slightly by 0.3 percent as compared to the previous month.
In the third quarter of the year, new industrial orders received in France decreased by 2.2 percent compared to the previous quarter and were down 1.1 percent compared to the same quarter of 2011.
In September, the new orders index for the French domestic metallurgical industry decreased by 5.8 percent as compared to the previous month, while the new orders index for the manufacture of metal products except machinery remained unchanged as compared to August. Meanwhile, France's new orders index for the automobile sector fell by 1.5 percent in September this year as compared to the previous month.
Compared to the previous quarter, in the third quarter of the year the new orders index for the French domestic metallurgical industry declined by 5.8 percent, the new orders index for the manufacture of metal products except machinery fell by 4.8 percent and the index for the automobile industry fell by 1.7 percent.
