Freight volumes on China’s waterways up eight percent in January-April

In the January-April period this year, the overall freight volume transported on China’s waterways (rivers, lakes, seas) amounted to 2.04142 billion mt, increasing by 8.0 percent year on year, while the freight traffic volume on the country’s waterways totaled 3.17095043 trillion mt-km, rising by 10.9 percent year on year, according to the latest data issued by China’s Ministry of Transportation (MOT).
