Freight volumes at large ports in China up 7.8 percent in January-April

In the January-April period of the current year, freight volumes handled at large ports in China totaled 4.07835 billion mt, up 7.8 percent year on year, according to the latest data issued by China’s National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC). In particular, in the given period the foreign trade freight volume handled at large ports in China totaled 1.30906 billion mt, rising by 7.5 percent year on year.

Meanwhile, in the given period containers handled at large ports in China amounted to 73.6809 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs), increasing by 7.7 percent year on year.
