France's metal industry output stable in May compared to April

France's manufacturing output in May this year increased by 0.6 percent month on month, after a 0.8 percent month-on-month decrease in April, and rose by 1.4 percent year on year, according to the statistics released by France's National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (INSEE).
 
In May, France's production in manufacture of basic metals and fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment, remained stable compared to April, after a month-on-month decrease of 0.9 percent in April.

On the other hand, in May production of France's motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers industry saw a decrease of 0.6 percent on month-on-month basis after a 1.4 percent month-on-month decrease recorded in the previous month, while the output of the domestic construction industry increased by one percent month on month in May, after a decrease of 0.7 percent in April from March.
