France's steel product import value up 26.7 percent in January-May

According to the statistics released by the French Ministry of Economy, Finance and Industry, in the January-May period of this year France's basic steel product and ferroalloy imports amounted to a value of €4.0 billion, increasing by 26.7 percent year on year.

During the period in question, France imported €732.35 million of steel pipes and tubes - up 11.3 percent, €269.67 million of cold rolled steel strip - rising by 23 percent, €164.87 million of cold drawn wire - growing  by 5.2 percent, €158.89 million of cold rolled steel bars - up 4.5 percent, and €662.94 million of metal structures and parts - increasing by 7.6 percent, all compared to the January-May period of 2016.
