France's steel product import value down 8.2 percent in January-May

According to the statistics released by the French Ministry of Economy, Finance and Industry, in the January-May period of the current year France's basic steel product and ferroalloy imports amounted to a value of €3.15 billion, decreasing by 8.2 percent year on year.
 
During the period in question, France imported €653.39 million of steel pipes and tubes - down 18.6 percent, €217.7 million of cold rolled steel strip - falling by 3.25 percent, €155.58 million of cold drawn wire - remaining almost stable, €151.8 million of cold rolled steel bars - down 10.9 percent, and €610.18 million of metal structures and parts - increasing by 6.4 percent, all compared to the January-May period of 2015.
