France's steel product import value down 6.7 percent in Q1

According to the statistics released by the French Ministry of Economy, Finance and Industry, in the January-March period of this year France's basic steel product and ferroalloy exports amounted to a value of € 2.03 billion, decreasing by 6.7 percent year on year.

During the period in question, France imported €374.68 million of steel pipes and tubes - down 9.36 percent, €138.94 million of cold rolled steel strip - decreasing by 8.3 percent, €96.11 million of cold drawn wire - down slightly by 0.2 percent, €99.89 million of cold rolled steel bars - down one percent, and € 36.05 million of metal structures and parts - declining 3.5 percent, all compared to the January-March period of 2014.
