France's steel product import value down 5.54 percent in January-May

According to the statistics released by the French Ministry of Economy, Finance and Industry, in the January-May period of this year France's basic steel product and ferroalloy imports amounted to a value of €3.4 billion, decreasing by 5.54 percent year on year.

During the period in question, France imported €713.13 million of steel pipes and tubes - up 4.36 percent, €224.14 million of cold rolled steel strip - decreasing by 17.86 percent, €153.84 million of cold drawn wire - almost stable, €166.67 million of cold rolled steel bars - down 5.2 percent, and €560.88 million of metal structures and parts - declining by 4.51 percent, all compared to the January-May period of 2014.
