According to the data released by France's National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (INSEE), in January this year the prices of imported iron ore in France increased by 3.7 percent month on month, following the strong month-on-month decrease of 4.7 percent recorded in December last year, while the prices are 38.4 percent lower compared to the same month of the previous year.

Meanwhile, in France, prices of non-ferrous metals decreased by 1.3 percent in January compared to the previous month owing to a slowing demand from China, the world's biggest consumer of industrial metals.
