Fortescue Metals Group Limited has announced that it has initiated a temporary suspension of surface
mining operations at its Christmas Creek
iron ore mine after a contractor employee died in an accident.
Fortescue stated that it will assist with investigations into the accident, which are expected to start today, December 30.
