Formosa Ha Tinh Steel starts production at new hot rolling mill

UK-based plantmaker Primetals Technologies has announced that Vietnam-based Formosa Ha Tinh Steel (FHS) has started production at its new hot rolling mill in Vung Ang, Vietnam, supplied by Primetals Technologies. The rolling mill produces a wide range of steel - from quality grades up to American Petroleum Institute (API) specifications and transformation-induced plasticity steel grades (TRIP), and has a capacity of 5.3 million metric tons of hot strip per year.
 
The hot strips produced at the mill have thicknesses in a range from 1.2 millimeters to 25.4 millimeters and widths from 900 millimeters to 1,880 millimeters. The maximum coil weight is 40 metric tons.
