Foreign direct investment by Chinese companies up 20.8 in January-July

In the January-July period of the current year, overseas foreign direct investment (FDI) by Chinese companies totaled $63.5 billion, up 20.8 percent year on year, as announced by China's Ministry of Commerce (MOC) on August 19.

In the January-July period this year, new foreign projects contracted by Chinese companies were worth a total of $110.04 billion, up 23.7 percent year on year.

Meanwhile, in the given period 1,786 foreign projects were contracted by Chinese companies in 60 countries along the One Belt, One Road area, with a value of $49.44 billion, up 39.6 percent year on year, accounting for 44.9 percent of the total value of new foreign projects contracted by Chinese companies in the January-July period.
