Foreign direct investment (FDI) in China in September of the current year totaled $9.01 billion, up 1.9 percent year on year, as announced by China's Ministry of Commerce (MOC) on October 16. In the January-September period of the current year, FDI in China totaled $87.36 billion, up 5.5 percent year on year.
In the first nine months of the year, around $48.63 billion of the total FDI went into China's services industry, while FDI in Chinese manufacturing declined by 16.5 percent year on year to $29.63 billion. Meanwhile, overseas foreign direct investment by Chinese companies in the January-September period totaled $74.96 billion, up 21.6 percent year on year.
