Foreign direct investment (FDI) in China in the January-July period of the current year totaled RMB 485.42 billion ($72.7 billion), down 1.2 percent year on year, with a total of 17,703 new companies set up by foreign investment in China, up 12.0 percent year on year, as announced by China's Ministry of Commerce (MOC).
In particular, in the January-July period of the current year FDI by Hong Kong, Taiwan and the EU-28 in China increased by 6.6 percent, 41.2 percent and 5.4 percent year on year, respectively.
