Foreign direct investment falls in Mexico in 2014

Mexico received $22.6 billion in foreign direct investment last year, according to data released by the nation’s economy ministry.

According to the ministry, foreign direct investment in 2014 decreased by 46.3 percent from $42.1 billion reported in 2013.

According to government’s data, the manufacturing industry received most of the foreign investment last year, with $12.9 billion, followed by financial services, mining, commerce and civil construction.
