First lot of Khuzestan Steel shares sold on exchange

First lot of the Iranian steel mill Khuzestan Steel's shares was sold on August 7, 2007 on the stock exchange.

A total of 96.4 million shares, representing 4.4 percent stake in the Iranian fourth largest steelmaker, were sold for Rial 323 billion ($34.58 million) in less than two minutes.

The next step in the privatization of 50 percent of Khuzestan Steel, according to the government's plan, will be an offering of a five percent stake in the company to its workers.
