First batch of iron ore at Wenzhou port
On June 19, 2005, the first batch of iron ore arrived at Wenzhou port on the southeast coast of China. The port received 14'500 tons of iron ore from India's Haldia harbor. The iron ore was imported by Zheijang province based Quzhou Yuanli Group company. The company used to transship imported iron ore at Beicang Port, Ningbo. Wenzhou port has been upgraded recently and it is known that many enterprises in western areas of Zhejiang province intend to transship their imported goods at Wenzhou port.
