Fire at Nucor Berkeley causes significant damage

Charleston County, South Carolina firefighters responded to a fire at Nucor Berkeley on Friday morning, causing “significant damage” according to authorities.

Firefighters told local media that flames on an outdoor conveyor system breached the building, forcing them to remain outside for their safety. The flames on the building’s exterior were reportedly extinguished within 45 minutes, whereas the rest of the blaze was contained in about two hours.

No injuries were reported, and the full extent of the damage is still being investigated.
