Finished steel exports from China’s Hebei Province surge in Q1

In the first three months of the current year, the finished steel export volume and corresponding value from China's Hebei Province respectively totaled 2.4999 million mt and $1.992 billion, up 38.11 percent and 38.62 percent, ranking first among Chinese provinces, according to the data released by the Hebei Metallurgical Industry Association.

In 2011, Hebei Province achieved a record annual finished steel export volume of 8.6670 million mt, up 16.15 percent year on year, while the export value in question increased by 40.17 percent compared with the previous year. Meanwhile, the average finished steel export sale price from Hebei in 2011 was $852.57/mt, up 20.68 percent year on year.
