Final results of AD review on certain WR from Canada

The US Department of Commerce (DOC) published final results of a changed circumstances review of an antidumping duty on carbon and certain alloy steel wire rod imported from Canada. On October 29, 2002 the DOC imposed antidumping duty order on carbon and certain alloy steel wire rod imported from Canada. Ispat Sidbec Inc (Ispat) was among the companies subject to the duty order. On January 14, 2005, Mittal Steel requested that the DOC to initiate a changed circumstances review to determine that it had become the successor-in-interest to Ispat. Upon Mittal's request, the DOC, on March 9, 2005, initiated a changed circumstances review of the antidumping duty order on imports of subject merchandise to determine whether Mittal is the successor-in-interest to Ispat. The DOC preliminarily determined that Mittal is the successor-in-interest to Ispat and should receive Ispat's cash deposit rate of 3.86 percent. Having not received any comments on the preliminary results, the DOC decided not to make any changes to the preliminary results. As a result, the DOC will accord the new company the same antidumping treatment as its predecessor.
