Swiss-headquartered resources company Ferrexpo, whose main interests are in Ukrainian iron ore assets, has announced its production results for June and for the first half of 2010.
Accordingly, in H1 this year, the company registered a 3.7 percent increase year on year in its iron ore production to about 14.2 million metric tons, while its concentrate production saw a 10.4 percent rise to 5.51 million metric tons.
During the given period, Ferrexpo's pellet production (from its own raw materials) increased by 7.7 percent year on year to 4.44 million metric tons. The company also processed 444,600 metric tons of pellets from purchased raw materials to meet ongoing higher demand, bringing its overall pellet output to 4.886 million metric tons - up 18.1 percent year on year.
In June this year, Ferrexpo's pellet production from purchased raw materials went down by 14.1 percent month on month to 86,000 mt, while its pellet production (from its own raw materials) registered a 2.4 percent increase month on month to 778,200 mt, thus leading to a 0.5 percent rise month on month in the company's overall June pellet output, which amounted to 864,200 mt - up 16.8 percent year on year.
Meanwhile, in June, the company's iron ore output went down by 5.7 percent, while its concentrate production increased by 1.1 percent, both compared to the previous month. The respective figures in metric tons were 2.256 million and 952,700.
