Ferrexpo's iron ore pellet output up 10.3 percent in Q4 from Q3

Swiss-headquartered resources company Ferrexpo, whose main interests are in Ukrainian iron ore assets, has announced that in the fourth quarter of 2016 its overall iron ore pellet production increased by 10.3 percent quarter on quarter to 2.87 million mt.
 
In the fourth quarter, Ferrexpo's pellet production from its own raw materials increased by 6.3 percent compared to the previous quarter, amounting to 2.76 million mt, while its pellet production from third party concentrate stood at 105,990 mt.
 
During the full year 2016, Ferrexpo's overall iron ore pellet production decreased by four percent year on year to 11.20 million mt. The company’s pellet production from its own raw materials declined by 1.7 percent to 11.07 million mt, while its pellet production from third party concentrate went down by 68 percent to 129,200 mt, both compared to 2015. 
 
Meanwhile, in 2016, Ferrexpo achieved record sales volume of approximately 11.7 million mt compared to 11.3 million mt in 2015 reflecting strong global demand for the company’s pellets.
