Jiangxi Province-based Chinese steelmaker Fangda Special Steel has announced its preliminary plans to carry out 40-day maintenance work on its 450 m³ blast furnace No. 3 from March 15.

The production halt during the maintenance work is expected to result in a shortfall of around 75,000 mt in the steelmaker's pig iron output.
