Ezz Steel’s new cold DRI plant starts production

Italian plantmaker Danieli has announced that the new cold DRI plant of Egypt's largest steelmaker Ezz Steel, supplied by Danieli, produced its first DRI and passed the hot test on December 2.

The total plant production already exceeded the 110,000 mt in less than one month of operation, corresponding to the 66 percent of the learning curve. 

The hourly production rate has reached 2.1 million mt per year, more than 10 percent above the guaranteed value of 1.9 million mt per year.
