The largest Egyptian steel producer Ezz Steel has disclosed to SteelOrbis details of its plans regarding the construction of a new rebar mill in Algeria to satisfy that country's growing demand for this material.

The new mill, worth $700 million in investment, is expected to be completed within a 24-30 month period and will have a designed production capacity of 1.5 million metric tons.

Although Ezz Steel's new mill will target Algeria's booming market, the company's representative pointed out that a small fraction of the new mill's products will be sold to the markets close to Algeria.
