On March 9, Sichuan Province-based Chongqing Steel announced its latest prices for medium
plate. The details are as follows:
1. Common carbon
plate prices have been increased by RMB 200/mt ($26/mt). Following this adjustment, the new price of 12-25 mm Q235A common carbon
plate is RMB 4,600/mt ($594/mt). 8 mm Q235 now costs RMB 4,850/mt ($628/mt), while 10 mm costs RMB 4,750/mt ($614/mt).
2. Low alloy
plate prices have been hiked by RMB 200/mt ($26/mt). As a result, the new price of 12-25 mm Q345A low alloy
plate is RMB 4,700/mt ($607/mt), that of 8 mm Q345A is RMB 4,950/mt ($640/mt), while the cost of 10 mm has risen to RMB 4,850/mt ($627/mt).
3. The prices of boiler
plate and container
plate have gone up RMB 200/mt ($26/mt), with the price of 20g 12-25 mm now at RMB 4,900/mt ($633/mt). As a result, the price of 16MnR 12-25 mm has increased to RMB 5,100/mt ($659/mt).

Shipbuilding plate prices have increased by RMB 300/mt ($39/mt), and so the price of 12-25 mm CCSA now costs RMB 5,000/mt ($646/mt).
All the above prices include 17 percent VAT and are effective as of April 1.
