Evraz ZSMK to stop continuous caster for maintenance

Evraz ZSMK, a Siberian steel division of steel and mining group Evraz, will stop its continuous caster for maintenance as of April 25, company managing director Alexey Yuryev has said. The maintenance works will last six months.
 
The cost of this investment project is RUB 2.5 billion, RUB 1.8 billion of which will be spent this year. The reconstruction of the continuous casting machine will increase its capacity from 1.2 million mt to 2.2 million mt of semi-finished steel products per year.
