Evraz sees slight drop in crude steel output in Q3 from Q2 levels

Global steelmaking and mining giant Evraz Group S.A. has announced that its crude steel output in the third quarter of the current year decreased by 1.5 percent quarter on quarter and by 2.6 percent compared to the same quarter of the previous year, falling to 3.859 million mt.

In the third quarter this year, the crude steel production of the Russian division of Evraz Group decreased by 0.6 percent year on year to 2.948 million mt.

Evraz's Ukraine operations saw their crude steel production increase by 9.3 percent year on year in the third quarter to 269,000 mt.

In the third quarter this year, the North America unit of Evraz recorded a 10.4 percent year-on-year decrease to 500,000 mt in its crude steel production.

The group's consolidated production of finished steel goods in the third quarter was 14.3 percent lower year on year at 2.340 million mt, while its total steel product output including semi-finished steel decreased by 7.3 percent year on year to 3.647 million mt.

As regards iron ore products, Evraz Group's production in the third quarter was 6.5 percent lower at 4.380 million mt, while its raw coking coal production increased by 11 percent to 5.329 million mt, both year on year.
