Evraz announced increase in April production

Russia's leading steel making and mining group Evraz Group announced its operational results for April. Accordingly, the company produced 943'700 tons of hot rolled steel and iron in April 2005, a 15.2% increase from April 2004. The company further increased its steel production 13.9% year on year to 1'119'700 tons and rolled steel production 14.2% to 1'036'300 tons. Adding the April results, the total hot rolled steel and iron production of the company reached 3'975'500 tons, a 6.6% year on year increase. The company also increased its steel production 5% year on year to 4'660'700 tons and rolled steel production 5.7% year on year to 4'193'300 tons.
