European new commercial vehicle market expands by 4.3 percent in H1

In the first half of this year, the new commercial vehicle market in the European Union (EU) expanded by 4.3 percent year on year, mainly lifted by the demand for vans, which rose by eight percent in the given period. In total, 887,862 new commercial vehicles were registered in the first six months of the year, according to the European Automobile Manufacturers' Association (ACEA).

Meanwhile, in June, new registrations rose for all segments of commercial vehicles, resulting in an overall 13.2 percent year-on-year increase in the EU, with 166,929 new registrations in total.
