In June this year, new commercial vehicle registrations in the European Union (EU) increased by 2.5 percent year on year to 229,570 units, according to the European Automobile Manufacturers' Association (ACEA).
In June, all major markets performed well, except for a rather significant decline (-6.7%) in German demand, with the Italian and Spanish markets recording the highest percentage gains (+12.7% and +8.8% respectively), followed by France (+2.6%) and the United Kingdom (+2.1%), compared to June 2016.
In the half of this year, new commercial vehicle registrations in the EU totaled 1,221,811 units, up 4.2 percent on year-on-year basis. Spain (+14.2%), Italy (+8.7%), France (+6.0%) and Germany (+2.1%) recorded the highest increases, while the UK (-2.7%) market declined , all year on year.
