European commercial vehicle registrations up 10.6 percent in March

In March this year, new commercial vehicle registrations in the European Union (EU) increased by 10.6 percent year on year to 1,607,107 units, rising for the 19th consecutive month on year-on-year basis and indicating the highest growth year on year since March last year, according to the European Automobile Manufacturers' Association (ACEA). Looking at the major markets, in March this year Spain (+40.5 percent), Italy (+15.1 percent), France (+9.3 percent), Germany (+ nine percent) and the UK (+ six percent) posted increases, all on year-on-year basis.

In the first quarter of this year, new commercial vehicle registrations in the EU totaled 3,527,704 units, up 8.6 percent on year-on-year basis. Spain (+32.2 percent), Italy (+13.5 percent), France (+6.9 percent) and Germany (+6.4 percent) recorded increases.
