Euro area annual inflation up to 0.2 percent in Dec from Nov

Annual inflation in the euro area was 0.2 percent in December last year, up from 0.1 percent in November, according to a report released by Eurostat, the Statistical Office of the European Communities. In December 2014, the annual inflation rate was -0.2 percent.
 
Meanwhile, in the European Union (EU-28) annual inflation was 0.2 percent in December, up from 0.1 percent in November. In December 2014, the annual inflation rate in the EU-28 was -0.1 percent.
 
In December last year, negative annual rates were observed in 12 states. The lowest inflation rates were observed in Bulgaria (-0.9%), Romania (-0.7%), and Cyprus and Slovenia (both -0.6), while the highest were observed in Belgium (1.4%), Malta (1.2%) and Austria (1.1%).
