Euro area annual inflation down to 0.3 percent in November

Annual inflation in the euro area was 0.3 percent in November this year, down from 0.4 percent in October, according to a report released by Eurostat, the Statistical Office of the European Communities. In November 2013, the annual inflation rate was 0.9 percent.

Meanwhile, in the European Union (EU-28) annual inflation was 0.4 percent in November, down from 0.5 percent in October. In November 2013, the annual inflation rate in the EU-28 was one percent.

In November this year, annual inflation in the EU-28 fell in sixteen states, remained stable in five and increased in six states as compared with October (no data were provided for the UK). The lowest annual inflation rates were observed in Bulgaria (-1.9%), Greece (-1.2%), Spain (-0.5%) and Poland (-0.3%), while the highest were observed in Romania and Austria (both 1.5%) and Finland (1.1%).
