EU-27’s GDP rises 0.2 percent in Q2 over Q1

According to the second estimates released by Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union, during the second quarter of the current year gross domestic product (GDP) increased by 0.2 percent quarter on quarter both in the euro area and in the EU-27. In the first quarter of 2011, growth rates were 0.8 percent in the euro area and 0.7 percent in the EU-27. Compared with the same quarter of 2010, seasonally adjusted GDP increased by 1.6 percent in the euro area and 1.7 percent in the EU-27.
