EU-27 steel imports down five percent in October from September

According to the European steel association EUROFER, in the month of October this year EU-27 flat steel imports reached 1.137 million mt, while long steel imports amounted to 250,000 mt. Accordingly, overall EU-27 steel imports in October totaled 1.387 million mt, down five percent month on month and up 1.31 percent compared to the same month last year.

In addition, in the first 10 months of current year total EU-27 steel imports amounted to 17.63 million mt, increasing by 34.33 percent compared to the same period of 2010.
