EU-27 construction output up 0.4 percent in Nov over Oct

According to a report released by Eurostat, the Statistical Office of the European Communities, in November 2011 the seasonally-adjusted production of the construction sector in the European Union member states (EU-27) increased 0.4 percent as compared to October and was up 0.7 percent compared to November 2010. In October, production decreased 0.9 percent compared to the previous month, according to the newly revised data.
 
In the EU, building construction in November increased by 0.8 percent month on month and was up 0.3 percent compared to November 2010, while civil engineering rose by 0.1 percent over October and was up by 1.3 percent as compared to the same month of 2010.
 
As compared to October, construction output in November increased in Slovenia by 23.1 percent, in Hungary by 7.4 percent and in Germany by 4.5 percent, while a decrease of 0.7 percent was registered in both Spain and Slovakia, with a 0.3 percent decline seen in Bulgaria.
