EU steel imports down 34 percent in January-March

According to the European Steel Association (EUROFER), in the month of March this year European Union (EU-27) flat steel imports totaled 1.03 million mt, while long steel imports amounted to 248,000 mt. Accordingly, overall EU steel imports in March totaled 1.278 million mt, up 9.88 percent month on month but down 36.88 percent compared to the same month in 2011.
