EU new car registrations up 5.5 in January

In January of the current year, new car registrations totaled 935,640 units in the European Union (EU), with an increase of 5.5 percent year on year and up 3.24 percent month on month, according to the latest figures issued by the European Automobile Manufacturers' Association (ACEA).
 
In January, most EU markets recorded year-on-year growth in new car registrations, with the UK and Spain both up 7.6 percent, with Germany seeing an increase of 7.2 percent, with Italy up 3.2 percent and with France registering 0.5 percent growth.
