The European Commission (EC) has announced that it has initiated an expiry review of the antidumping duties (AD) on steel ropes and cables originating in China.

The application for the review was filed by the Liaison Committee of EU Wire Rope Industries, based on the grounds that the expiry of the measures would be likely to result in continuation of dumping and recurrence of injury to the union industry.

The investigation of a continuation or recurrence of dumping will cover the period from January 1, 2016 to December 31, 2016.

The product under review currently falls within CN codes ex 7312 10 81, ex 7312 10 83, ex 7312 10 85, ex 7312 10 89 and ex 7312 10 98.
